Chocolate smoothies are a gift from the breakfast God’s! It’s like eating dessert first thing in the morning! Except this dessert is in fact your breakfast, and it’s not packed with unnecessary calories. There are so many ways to create the perfect chocolate smoothie. Today I chose to add peanut butter and banana’s! I feel all of the flavors combined create a rich, filling satisfying meal!
Chocolate is actually really good for you. The right chocolate that is. I use cacao which is a raw chocolate superfood. The benefits of cacao are so amazing! The fact that it aids in weight loss is a MAJOR KEY (in my DJ Khaled voice) in itself! Cacao also promotes healthy skin, is high in antioxidants, contains vitamins and minerals, improves brain function, and promotes a healthy heart! So if you are chocolate lover like me and have a wicked sweet tooth, swap out your cocoa for cacao your body will thank you!
You can make this smoothie for breakfast, a quick snack, post workout snack or even dessert! The choice is yours! As I mentioned before, the bananas and peanut butter bended with the rich flavor of the cacao make for the best chocolatey experience. I hope you enjoy this smoothie as much as I did!
- 1 1/2 – 2 frozen bananas
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp organic peanut butter
- 1/4 c vanilla almond milk (use less milk if you want your smoothie to be thicker)
- Blend all ingredients together in a smoothie blender or bullet until creamy and smooth!
- Serve in your favorite glass and top with your favorite chocolatey toppings! I used a combination of raw fudgy brownies that I had leftover (recipe coming soon), cacao nibs, goji berries and hemp seeds with sliced strawberries. Feel free to get as creative as you want!
